Warm and Cozy Christmas Reads

Christmas is here and WOW where has this year gone?  Since this will be my first blog posting I thought I would start with some wonderful Christmas reads sure to keep you warm and toasty.  I was asked to review a wonderful Christmas series and to my delight it was just right for cuddling on the couch with a blanket and my hot tea and enjoying a relaxing evening.  There are three books in the series written by three different authors:

Book 1: “What Child is This” by C.J. Carmichael
Book 2: “Home for Christmas” by Roxy Boroughs
Book 3: “The Holly & the Ivy” by Brenda M. Collins

Warning: If you have book OCD like I do then you want to go ahead an purchase all three books and read them in the order above because they lead into one another. Not to mention have cliff hangers ;)

All three books have one thing in common:  HOLLY
But who is Holly and where does she belong?  Guess you will have to read and see ...

"What Child is This"

I enjoy good clean romance books and Christmas romances this time of year are my favorite. I loved "What Child I This"! It was clean and romantic. It was an easy read that you could get lost in and enjoy a night curled on the couch with cup of your favorite warm beverage and forget the worries of the day. The books starts with Garret who runs a local business that his family owns and operates. His mother hired Lily, young beautiful women to come and work for their company. Garret Frost is Lily Parker's boss. Garret is a single dad who lost his wife and has not come to terms with her death and is living with him parents. Lily has a secret of her own that when a mysterious baby is found in the nativity scene makes her normal facade crumble. With everyone fighting the season Garret’s son Duncan is asking for a gift that Garrett cannot deliver.
Having lost my own mom this book was touching. Holiday seasons can be tough on those who have lost someone they love. However through love and friendship getting through those times can make it easier. Can Lily trust enough to share her secrets and heal her heart? Is Garret to lost to love to see it when it is in front of him the whole time?
I highly recommend this book to anyone. It is clean enough for teenagers although it is better suited for older readers based on the families and adults involved.

 "Home for Christmas"

Sometime you can come home and find love again, but sometimes old secrets can tear you apart. In "Home for Christmas" by Roxy Boroughs, James Frost, left Carol Falls, Vermont, years ago to prove he could have a successful life and make something out of himself.  He has come home for business, not pleasure, but that is all about to change when he the girl he has loved his entire life is living in the same town he is bent on getting in and out of as quickly as possible.

April has always loved Jimmy (James).  So much that ten years before she had married him, but the marriage was annulled before it even had a chance to begin.  However, now she has a secret and a son who is Autistic to care for.  Does she let the one man who left her and refused to wait on her back into her life?   Can her heart take it again when he leave? Or will both their secrets end everything once and for all.

Living in a small town myself this story rings true.  I have seen many people come and go and many couples coming back together.  The story is a clean, heartwarming Christmas story that I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a second chance or has wished for a do over at one point in their lives.

Do you believe in second chances?

"What Child is This"

Garret Frost's mom hires a beautiful women as the Public Relations Manager, Lily Parker.  She is trying to get over the something in her past that led to her losing her husband.  Garrett has no interest in her or Christmas after  losing his own wife tragically and being left to raise a son on his own.  They both have their secrets they are keeping....will it be what pulls then together or tears them apart.

Garret and his son have been living with Garet's parents sincehis wife died.  There is healing coming but will it come with some help from Lily?  What about the baby in the manager?  Who does it belong to?  Is it a Frost baby or someone from their past?

I truly enjoyed this entire series of novella's.  This one was one of my favorites.  It shows how communities can come together to help one another.  I would recommend this book to any one of any age.  (over 13 so they understand)

All three books are very clean and sweet.  They are quick reads so curl up and get to reading.  Enjoy what is left of Christmas!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!
